About us
MUN Bikeshare is a volunteer operated program at Memorial University. We will provide space and material (tools, bike parts) to help you learn more about bike issues and repair. Primarily, we operate as a rental bike service for anyone attending Memorial University. Our services are available for Memorial University students and non-students in support of St. John's bike community.

​As a non-profit entity of MUN, we suggest a small donation for used parts, use of tools and space on a pay-what-you-can basis to help sustain the space. Depending on supply, new parts such as tires and tubes are available at cost. We also welcome any bike related donations such as bikes (used, new, disrepair), parts, tools, helmets, etc. Refurbished bikes are on sale as well.
Anyone interested in volunteering can post on our facebook group or come during opening hours. We welcome volunteers of all varying bike experiences.
Applicable to MUN students and community, there is a first-come, first-serve principle for bike rentals. Rentals are limited to bikes that are fully functional (working brakes and working gears). Rentals are $70 up front. When you return your rental bike you will receive a $50 return deposit on the condition that you bring your bike back in reasonable rideable condition. A waiver will be signed upon bike rental to ensure that all guidelines are met. You can return your bike at anytime. We will contact you via e-mail at the end of the year for ALL RENTAL BIKES to be returned. Failure to do so will result in your loss of your deposit. In the event that rental bikes need repair, Bikeshare will offer tools and material on a pay-what-you-can basis for used items and at cost for new items. Bikeshare does stock some helmets and bike locks which are available for purchase.
